occurred as the engine warmed so I just assumed it was normal... I should just get a new one and see if that sorts it out. Very interesting that you've verified the closed throttle signal without the hard switch connected... that pretty much shoots my theory down but at least it helps prevent me from wasting any more time. I wish the FSM would have explained the threshold that defines a "malfunctioning" soft idle switch and what has to occur to make the hard idle switch become active. The whole notion of it malfunctioning just seems too vague to me.
